A combination shelving unit for books and storage from Peter Protzmann's Tubular collection for Herman Miller. Manufactured only from 1970-1971, the design features drawers and shelves suspended between two frame runners of chrome-plated steel. Laminated and molded plywood, overlaid with highly figured zebrawood achieves the signature S-bend of the shelves. The side panels of the two drawers are smoked lucite, and the front panels have a zebrawood veneer with continuous grain pattern, opening with a smooth bar pull. Retains original Herman Miller labels inside right-hand drawer. Condition: Excellent restored condition; wood has been professionally refinished and metal has been re-plated with chrome according to the original design.
