A generously proportioned platform bed by California designer and woodworker Gerald McCabe for his company, Erin Furniture. This example in solid maple with wide box joints has two floating nightstands and fits a California King mattress. Thebroad headboard and slightly narrower footboard both have an overhanging "shelf" and the piece is fitted with wooden slats to support a mattress. McCabe was known for his impeccable joinery, which here showcases the luminosity and rippling texture of the blonde wood. Condition: Excellent restored condition; professionally refinished and hand-oiled. Slats have been replaced. Dimensions: The overall footprint of the bed measures 110" wide x 107" long x 30 high. The frame encloses a mattress area of 74" wide x 85" long, with an under-bed clearance of 10".
